Seeds

I got out all the seeds leftover from the past few years (because we got no free seeds this year!) and inventoried what I have and what I’ll need to order. I’ll need to do a little research on viability of different types of seeds. I know there are some that lasts for years, and others that don’t do so well.

    1. I found a lot of information by googling seed viabiliity. Some do last for years and others not so well. Only way to know is to try to germinate them. Just line the bottom of a jar or plastic box with a wet paper towel, lay some seeds on it, and cover. Sometimes you only need to wait a day or two, sometimes 2 weeks. Using 10 seeds of any one kind makes it easy to calculate a percentage of viability. Ithink as long as you have a 50% rate, go ahead and use them, but plant twice as many as normal and then thin out if too many germinate!
